shockwaves.

I've been experiencing technical difficulties lately.
So it's been a while.
And here I am, stuck at my mom's work at ms. val's desk, with nothing to do.

"Shocking occurences become less shocking when they happen everyday."
Is that why we have become so immune to what was once cultural taboo?
Violence, Language, and Sex getting bolder in movies and music.
Because we've grown immune to it? As if its some sort of medicine we've built up a tolerence to.
Is there anyway to regress, or will things spiral out of control to such an extent that lives become boring because there's no further we can take dirty jokes? What a puzzling possibility.

My Happiness

This is how I try to live my life:

"HAPPINESS IS FINDING A PENCIL.
PIZZA WITH SAUSAGE
TELLING THE TIME.
HAPPINESS IS LEARNING TO WHISTLE.
TYING YOUR SHOE FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME.
HAPPINESS IS PLAYING THE DRUM IN YOUR OWN SCHOOL BAND.
AND HAPPINESS IS WALKING HAND IN HAND.
HAPPINESS IS TWO KINDS OF ICE CREAM.
KNOWING A SECRET.
CLIMBING A TREE.
HAPPINESS IS FIVE DIFFERENT CRAYONS.
CATCHING A FIREFLY.
SETTING HIM FREE.
HAPPINESS IS BEING ALONE EVERY NOW AND THEN.
AND HAPPINESS IS COMING HOME AGAIN.
HAPPINESS IS MORNING AND EVENING,
DAY TIME AND NIGHT TIME TOO.
FOR HAPPINESS IS ANYONE AND ANYTHING AT ALL
THAT'S LOVED BY YOU.
HAPPINESS IS HAVING A SISTER.
SHARING A SANDWICH.
GETTING ALONG.
HAPPINESS IS SINGING TOGETHER WHEN DAY IS THROUGH,
AND HAPPINESS IS THOSE WHO SING WITH YOU.
HAPPINESS IS MORNING AND EVENING,
DAYTIME AND NIGHTTIME TOO.
FOR HAPPINESS IS ANYONE AND ANYTHING AT ALL
THAT'S LOVED BY YOU."

Always appreciate the little things.
No matter what.

It helps me too be a happier person. Nothing is ever completely perfect but loving the little things helps with positivity I think.

Right now I'm going to go love me some dinner though.

Let's make a change we won't regret in 20 years

Is that possible?
With a humans option of free will and therefore constant option of error, can we really make a change we won't regret in 20 years?
Today in honor of the election I will do a political post.
As if we had't heard enough about politics.
Maybe I should be president, since it seems like anyone can run.
Maybe no one should be president and the country should be run by council.
I think it's very appropriate that the faces on our currency are our past presidents, because mirroring real life the actual president doesn't do much. It's what the president represents that's really worth something.

After tonight our country's mentality will completely change.
Whether McCain or Obama is elected.
I don't think either would neccessarily a positive change.
I personally prefer Obama, but i'm afraid that if/when he's elected he won't have the guts to make changes that people will hate him for. McCain probably would be able since he's going to die of neurojudochickenitis before people would even know, leaving us with parah salin as our interim.
What a great prospect right?
hah.

So I have no choice but to follow my own advice; at church on sunday we were asked to, in three words, write how had God had worked in our lives that week.
Peace
in Blind
Faith
I will draw my peace about this country's future by putting it entirely in God's hands.
He will always take care of us, and I have faith that he will put who he wants in charge of our country.
What good does it do to worry anyway?

Until the world changes,
Mary

Hello hungry, I'm thirsty

In the least rudely meant way possible, my friends are like day old pizza.
Still good so that you'll eat it, but by the end of it you really just wish you could eat something new instead.
What i'm trying to say I think is that I would like to make some new friends. Alot of them. Right now. Jokes feel not funny and way too over used. People's parents are starting to get annoying to me. I feel like I've lost my commonalities, so everyone seems so much more shallow to me. I wish I didn't feel that way, but I really do.
It was especially apparant tonight for me. I went to a costume party and I hadn't realized how boxed in I felt until I had a chance to be around people who I hadn't seen in a long time. Even making new friends felt like a breath of fresh air for me.
Really.

It seems inescapable though, I have two very different groups of friends but I feel trapped with both. Like i'm split in half by two things that don't actually have much to do with me at all.
I just have to take a breath.

Maybe I need a mental health day.

I'm physically and mentally hungry for new friendships.

Open the magazine.

Friendship is exhausting to me.
I just don't understand it really.
Is it a true friendship if you are constantly worrying if the other person still likes you? How do you turn it into a legit one if it's not already? Why should you have to work so hard?
Or are the only true friendships ones you don't have to work at?
The definition of friend is this:
a person whom one knows, likes, and trusts.

Well what about the people who I don't trust, but still like and know? Do they fall into some mysterious gray area not unlike purgatory?
Will I ever find out the answers here? Or are my questions just making me think up more questions?
I love the idea of friends, but in reality I have only a few friends in the truest sense of the word. I have a lot of people who I know and so many that I like, but so few that I really honestly trust with everything. People who would ask me a difficult questions or to tell them difficult things and I wouldn't just brush it off with a joke.
Maybe I want to have more true friends than that. I don't know how to just make myself trust people.
Recently I was compared to a magazine. Somebody who you meet and instantly know whether you like her, and everything about her. But then after you've met her you don't need to do much else.
Thanks a ton.
The first part is nice enough, but I want people to want to get to know me. I don't want people to think I put everything out in the open all at once. That is so untrue. I am a free girl don't mistake that, but if people think what you see is all of what you get that is falso.
I would like people to meet me and say "hey, break me off a piece of that kit kat bar."
Is this too much to ask?

Hey boo

I'm going to frightfest today to celebrate my friend's birthdays.
I really hope it's scary, because I think everybody needs to be scared once in a while. It does the soul some good. Reminds you that you have something to lose.

I am intimidated by my pants. They are stealing all my personal space and I don't really like it.
Today will make or break these pants fr me; if they survive walking around six flags and all the flailing around, jumping, and dancing I plan to put them through then they will win my affection and I will wear them until they're unwearable. Until then, I will remain claustrophobic inside of them

Because we've got feelin' and we're damn proud of it."

That's right I have feeling.
And I plan to use them alot today.

Showtime.

It's one of those times of year, when the theater lights up.
Every role in the play seems to say "This is show week,
"by the end I should just move in with all you."
And this song of mine in an eight count on time
Wishes you and yours the same thing, too.

I love theater kids.
You probably don't if you're not one, but just trust me they are wonderful.
Especially christian theater kids.

They are a different breed of people, open, honest, friendly, and very very musical.
So today I have decided to include some lovely and true entries of 'you know you're a theater kid when...' in honor of those who are or soon will be in tech/show week. So, You Know You're a Theater Kid WHEN:

-Your life is empty and meaningless when you don’t have a show.
-There should be a closing night support group.
-The “NO FOOD OR DRINK IN THE AUDITORIUM” sign doesn’t apply to you.
-You know the exact location of every fast food restaurant and coffee house within 15 minutes of the theatre.
-If you’re a girl, you’ve been felt up by every other girl in the cast.
-If you're a boy who can act, dance, AND sing, you probably have girls crawling on top of you.
-You belt out songs from whatever show you’re currently obsessed with on the way to class.
-Modesty, personal space, and changing in private have not meant anything to you in years.
-You talk with your hands.
-There are three things in life: Rehearsal, Stress, and Cast Parties.
-You don’t drink or eat dairy.
-You have a program collection.
-You have a face book album for every show.
-You listen to OCRs in the car, and your friends don’t mind.
-You spit out your gum every time you walk into a theatre.
-You know not to bug the stage manager during tech week.
-Febreeze is your friend.
-So help you if you’re the kid who screws up the harmony.
-You know not to touch the headset.
-Or the stage manager’s show bible.
-Or the dance captains choreo notes.
-Or anyone else’s props.
-You’d rather chill at the theatre than at home.
-You get used to not sleeping.
-Or eating.
-You’ve caught yourself accidentally referring to someone in your theatre company as your “sister” or “brother” rather than your friend.
-After the last show you end up with more lipstick on your face then you started with
-You've come to accept that all the eyeliner will never come off your eyelids no matter how hard you scrub.
-You have sticky or hairless places on your neck because the mic tape has pulled it off.
-You know that even rubbing alcohol can't remove the gunk left over from the aforementioned tape.
-You can detect a cold that is days away.
-You know you're a theatre kid when someone says, "Let's start at the very beginning.." and without missing a beat you chime in with "It's a very good place to start."
-As soon as you start rehearsal, you stop putting effort into your appearance. Tech week? Everyone at school asks if your dog died.
-You do not cut or dye your hair, lose weight, gain weight, or change your physical appearance in ANY WAY under penalty of death once cast.
-You are constantly having to explain to your parents that too sick for school and too sick for rehearsal are totally different...the former is "contagious" and the latter is "dead".

The ones in bold are hands down the most true, but they all apply.
Welcome to what some call hell week but I call Love.
Ofcourse, my show week isn't until December but i'm enjoying everyone else's in the mean time.

Today's advice: If you're looking for a substitute family, join a theater company. Because once someone has helped you do a quick change or lent you throat coat and helped you get the mic tape off your hair you may as well just start calling them "my brother/sister."
Just wait until I get to show week.
I will go crazy with love.

I don't really have anything else special to say this time.
Until we meet again.
